Yucca baccata vespertina. This high desert western native is a very attractive trunk-less shrub that develops a large root tuber. If the cycle shaped blue leaves burn or browsed by herbivores then large root tuber will sprout new heads. It grows above 3500 feet in the Mojave and is cold hardy to -10°F. USDA Zone 7. They do really well in cold climates.
